It's a cliché, but I have to say, I'm very excited to launch this new website and I'm especially excited to begin this new blog. I've decided to start out slowly here on the blog, by initially cross posting a bit with my other (and first!) blog over at ImprintByEileen.com, the site for my handmade jewelry business. I started Imprint By Eileen the small business back in the Fall of 2011, and my blog there started up in January 2012.
Since then - since before then, even! - I have also wanted to run a website where I could incorporate and celebrate all of my theater and writing projects, too. I work here in New York City in many branches of the creative arts - in the past year alone, I have designed lights for dozens of theatrical projects all around New York City and beyond, including three legs of an international tour (the obvious tourism highlight: feeding kangaroos by hand in Australia). I worked as a set dresser on a music video shoot, which involved the planning and then stringing of more than 10,000 Christmas lights all around a small room. I co-wrote, directed, and produced an original performance and installation piece in Harlem called SKIN with the lovely and talented Dana Dobreva. I have written dozens of poems and dozens of blog posts, and I have designed, created, and sold countless pieces of jewelry. It has been an amazingly busy and satisfying year, and I can't wait to see what is in store for me in the months to come....
I'm so excited to have the opportunity to share my ideas and projects here - I'm not sure yet how everything is going to be organized, but please feel free to let me know what you think of the site and/or what else you might like to see or hear about!
Thanks so much for beign here and for reading, and I look forward to all the many blog posts that are to come... xo
